Spread Cheer, not Germs

Spread Cheer Not Germs KE

We all love to spend time with our family, especially at family gatherings. Hence, it’s essential that we keep viruses at bay. After all, even if one family member is sick, the gloom spreads all over. Dettol arms families with the protection they need to ensure that the only thing that we share is cheer.

What Is the Flu?

Influenza, or flu, is an illness caused by a virus transmitted through tiny droplets of moisture, created when people with flu cough, sneeze, or even talk. The flu virus is very contagious, and can be spread by someone that has flu from the day before they start to feel flu symptoms, up to seven days afterwards. Regardless of how careful people with the illness can be, these viruses settle and accumulate on door handles, gadgets and most importantly: kitchen surfaces. It doesn’t matter if they’re spreading from touch or through the air, just as long as they hit!

The symptoms of flu include:

  • cough
  • sore throat
  • muscle aches and pains
  • runny or stuffy nose

Lots of people associate flu with having a fever, and whilst this can be a nasty symptom, not everyone with flu gets it, so don’t rule it out even if you don’t have this symptom yourself. Although most people get over the worst of the flu in a week or so, it can be very unpredictable and certain people are at greater risk of serious complications, particularly young children and the elderly.

How to Cure the Flu

The best cure is always a strong defence, so make sure that you’re well protected.

Dettol fights back against flu by directly attacking the flu virus and can be used to maintain personal hygiene or for surface disinfection purposes.

To help prevent the spread of flu, follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s guidelines, which recommend that you:

• Get a Flu Shot

• Wash Your Hands with soap and water, scrubbing thoroughly for 20 seconds

• Routinely clean and disinfect surfaces

We hope that every home is happy and healthy with CDC’s simple advice. Using  Dettol`s Liquid Hand Wash protects hands from germs and gently cleans them. You can also use Dettol Antiseptic Liquid which provides all-round family protection against germs and has been recommended by medical professionals for generations.
